We at Safe Sign started 3 years ago an
innovation-project in order to upgrade our
photolumescent Sign range. Till today most
photoluminescent sign makers use PVC.
Only some know that PVC is the single most
environmentally damaging of all plastics.
Since PVC contaminates the environment throughout
its lifecycle: during its production, use, and
disposal. As users increasingly demand PVC-free
products, and as the environmental and health costs
of PVC are recognized, our alternatives will become
more economically viable. For us at Safe Sign this
was the ignition to do something about it. We have
replaced PVC with a safer material
a modified
recycable polymer.
Besides this we went 1 step further, the
complete range is also free of halogens.
Signs containing halogens can cause a huge
problem, there toxicity of smoke is of highest
concern within enclosed spaces where means of escape
by persons are limited; examples include mass
transit rail cars, ships, and Offshore Oil and Gas
platforms. In several tragic catastrophes that have
happend in last recent years people have been killed
by toxic fumes. We took the challenge and developed
our new range of photolume signage.
Today we
are ready we finalised our signage and can inform
Users througout the world we have Signage which is
Halogen & PVC free and is even lasting longer than
common signs up to 5 times. Using new materials and
techniques helped us to achieve innovative Signs
which are also economical
to buy and they even look better.

Netherlands,
during first period of 2009 T-ISS engineers have worked on
several major projects regarding Low Location Light
measurements & refurbishments. On
various cruiseliners and ropax ferries LLL photoluminescent
guiding systems have been tested according to IMO / ISO
standards.

In general the results for cruiseliners & ferries between
1995 & 2002 are far below standards and the installed
systems had to be upgraded in order to meet the minimum
standards required by IMO regulations as descriped in ISO
15370. The installed systems were having the necessary
approvals but the first installer ( most local signmakers) at
the yard did not take into consideration the situation on
board the vessel which has huge influence about to determine
what quality photolume system have to be choosen. Often the choice
was to take the cheapest available approved product, ot
always a wise choice. Today all systems tested by us are
fully approved and meet by far the minimum standards.
We keep on Saving You......

T-ISS WINS
courtcase against STELL
During 2006 & 2007 the german signmaker Stell has taken
T-ISS 2 times to court.
T-ISS is cooperating with Intersign Norge and publishing the
signcatalogue SafeSign on the www. Stell wanted to remove
this catalogue from the web because they felt it was in
conflict with there productscatalogue. In both courtcases
Stell lost its case.
Stell is a shipsign maker since late 1998, Intersign already
since mid eighties.
The management of T-ISS is pleased with the judgement by
both courts but still feels that it was just a personal
vendetta of the MD of Stell .
